Together We Rise! A Women’s Circle on discovering & reclaiming our feminine power

Being a woman, a female is a wonderful gift: the female gives birth to and sustains life, sustains community, holds age-long wisdom of healing, connecting to Nature, to Mother Earth. For ages, womanhood and femininity has been suppressed and degraded. Now, we are in an era where the feminine and the Sacred Feminine is coming back to reclaim its place, to be honored again for its wisdom and grace. This course will run as a woman’s sharing circle, a circle we will co-create and hold in trust and joy. Through readings, films, writing, painting, movement (dance, qiqong), meditation and at times visits to exhibits, we will explore femininity and our own femininity, with the aim of finding and claiming our own power through liberating ourselves from social norms of shame, guilt, inferiority, reconnecting to our bodies, our womb & sexuality, our inner wisdom, and to create together new ways of being that are whole, balanced and free. Some of the themes are: Gender (what is feminine, what is masculine and how did I learn it?), exploring the Wild Feminine, Sexualization of the Female Body, Menstruation & Life Cycles of a Woman, Childbirth & Birthing the New, Motherhood / Mothering / Mother Wounds, Finding Our Voice, Reconnecting to MotherEarth (GAIA). The circle is facilitated by Dr. Ayse Dayi, who is a gender scholar, psychologist, Reiki Teacher (RMT) & Mindfulness Trainer, who has worked and continues to work with women with the aim of supporting women to remember how to maintain our holistic health / balance, our reproductive health, explore gender relations, femininity, sexuality, reproduction, body and be able to express our potential freely and joyfully. Ayse has taught and conducted research on gender, women’s reproductive health, sexuality, psychology and medical sociology for 15 years in the universities in the U.S., Turkey, Switzerland, and Germany.
