Englisch B1/B2: News and Views - Konversation

Do you want to improve your English while talking about current & interesting topics? This conversation course will broadens students’ vocabulary in the context of discussing news articles & reports and how they relate to your life. Speaking, reading & listening will be practised as well the conversation skills of giving your opinion, keeping a discussion going and interrupting politely. Lively discussions are encouraged; the overall focus of this course is to practise communicating in a relaxed, enjoyable and respectful way. Course material will be provided by the instructor; the cost of materials for copies is 3.00 EUR. About the course instructor: I have a very multicultural background - I was born in South Africa, moved to Australia at age 9 and for the last 14 years have considered myself a Wahlberliner. I am fascinated by my fellow humans & society and am enthusiastic about reading and languages. I studied History, Politics and German Studies at university in Sydney and Berlin and I am a certified English teacher (CELTA). Method: I believe that learning is most successful in an atmosphere characterised by curiosity, encouragement and having fun. To further support effective learning I integrate topics that are interesting, relatable and useful for the learner into my language lessons - examples are history & politics, the workplace, sociology and psychology, among others.
