Digital Drawing: Procreate Workshop

This practice-based course offers an introduction to digital drawing with Procreate. Using provided iPads, participants will explore different techniques in drawing, image composition, animation, and presentation. Each session begins with a short analogue drawing warm-up before moving into digital practice. In this way, the course creates a connection between traditional and digital ways of working. In the first part of the course, the focus is on the fundamentals of Procreate, including drawing tools, layers, colour, tonal values, composition, and poster design. In the second part, participants expand their work into Procreate Dreams and experiment with moving images, simple animation, and the combination of digital tools with other apps and analogue practices. The course is strongly practice-based and encourages experimentation, play, and the development of an individual visual language. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will gradually build their skills step by step while also developing their own final project, which will be presented in a small exhibition at the end. Heather Purcell studierte an der Glasgow School of Art (BA) und an der Universität der Künste Berlin (MA). Sie arbeitet als Künstler*in und freischaffende Kunstvermittler*in. Der Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt in der Kombination analoger und digitaler Medien.
